Yes a rough weekend really. Friday night i had two hours sleep with Ryan unwell. Took him to the duty Dr on Sat and he had a very sore throat, but not the kind that requires medical intervention, so poor thing has just had to fight it off himself. Thankfully Sat night he did a lot better. I piggy-backed pamol and ibuprofen and we managed a few more hours of sleep. Fantastic especially as Sunday was the big Princess Ball! We had the party at Melrose House and it was lovely. Kids running around, scoffing their faces! We played stick the horn on the unicorn and had a pinata (which after a dozen kids hitting blindfolded and then unblindfolded was still in quite solid form. It took one of the men giving it a few really good bashes to get it to break).
Charlotte was terribly spoilt. Loads of toys, books and crafty things. She had a very special day.
Mummy is glad it is all over though and with her first day at school today is looking forward to getting back into some kind of a normal routine. Sadly with sick kids and party prep my housework has been seriously neglected, but hope to remedy that this week (although i am expecting to get the flu this week. Everyone else has had it and i have kept it at bay as i knew i had to, but now that i can relax a bit the countdown is on!!) Daryl has a very bad case of man-flu at the moment. Honestly it is like the death scene in Evita. Very dragged out and overdramatised!!!
And my big girl has started her school life today. Off to pick her up shortly. I have to say it felt odd this afternoon not picking her up from kindy. I am both excited and scared about her new school life. I am excited about her learning to read and write and hopefully develop a love of learning and soaking up info, but it is very daunting too to be putting her out there where i no longer have control over her environment. We have even had to have the very serious stranger danger talk! Very hard for Mummy to let go and still two to go (although thankfully not for a little while.).

Kindy Graduation
We had a lovely morning at kindy for Charlotte's graduation. She got to sit on the birthday chair, got a playdoh cake, a plant to take home and everyone sang her a song (Mr Clikkity Do). She put on a dance while they were singing, which was hilarious as she really shook her booty! Wish i could put the video clip on here.

It's been a while, but i seem to be in a bit of a blog funk, sorry. I usually think of plenty to write on here (often in the early hours of the morning), but once i'm on here i get the 'can't be bothered attitude'.
Anyway little update. Two more sleeps till my biggest baby turns 5! So as of Monday she will be a big school girl! Last weekend Mum took her to Wellington (Plane and train trip included) to see the Dora show, which she loved! I missed her heaps though. Almost cried when she got on the plane. Whatever i am going to be like when she wants to leave home or worse go on an OE when she's older. Sleepless nights for Mums don't end when they've outgrown the baby stage, that's for sure.
We had friends down from New Plymouth last week and their energetic 2yr old. It was so nice to see them. It had been nearly two years since we last saw them. Pity the weather wasn't nicer, but we managed a few days out and about having fun. Mostly it was just a great chance to catch up and kinda to meet/get to know Angus who was only 3mnths when we last saw him.
The girls have both had a nasty coughing virus (still have a bit of the cough) and now Ryan has come down with it too. He cries almost every time he coughs and i have to admit it even sounds painful. Poor wee mite, but other than snotty noses this is his first real bug, so he has done pretty well to make it to 8 1/2mnths. Breaks my heart to see him so miserable though. He has a croaky voice too, which is kinda cute, but would rather see him well.
Daryl went to Melbourne last week for work. Hmmm what kind of work has you drinking from about 3pm each day, LOL! He had a great time!!
That's about all i can think of right now, but will try to do better from now on.
