Yes a rough weekend really. Friday night i had two hours sleep with Ryan unwell. Took him to the duty Dr on Sat and he had a very sore throat, but not the kind that requires medical intervention, so poor thing has just had to fight it off himself. Thankfully Sat night he did a lot better. I piggy-backed pamol and ibuprofen and we managed a few more hours of sleep. Fantastic especially as Sunday was the big Princess Ball! We had the party at Melrose House and it was lovely. Kids running around, scoffing their faces! We played stick the horn on the unicorn and had a pinata (which after a dozen kids hitting blindfolded and then unblindfolded was still in quite solid form. It took one of the men giving it a few really good bashes to get it to break).
Charlotte was terribly spoilt. Loads of toys, books and crafty things. She had a very special day.
Mummy is glad it is all over though and with her first day at school today is looking forward to getting back into some kind of a normal routine. Sadly with sick kids and party prep my housework has been seriously neglected, but hope to remedy that this week (although i am expecting to get the flu this week. Everyone else has had it and i have kept it at bay as i knew i had to, but now that i can relax a bit the countdown is on!!) Daryl has a very bad case of man-flu at the moment. Honestly it is like the death scene in Evita. Very dragged out and overdramatised!!!
And my big girl has started her school life today. Off to pick her up shortly. I have to say it felt odd this afternoon not picking her up from kindy. I am both excited and scared about her new school life. I am excited about her learning to read and write and hopefully develop a love of learning and soaking up info, but it is very daunting too to be putting her out there where i no longer have control over her environment. We have even had to have the very serious stranger danger talk! Very hard for Mummy to let go and still two to go (although thankfully not for a little while.).
